Windows Firewall is designed to be the built-in, host-based, stateful firewall service included with desktop and server releases of Microsoft Windows from Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 onwards. Firewall helps in blocking the malicious programs and protecting your PC from attacking. Windows Firewall drops incoming traffic that does not correspond to either traffic sent in response to a request of the computer (solicited traffic) or unsolicited traffic that has been specified as allowed (excepted traffic).
Why you need to uninstall your Windows Firewall?
You may need to remove firewall, for one of the following reasons:
• Your latest and more powerful firewall stay in conflict with Windows XP Firewall.
• Due to some unknown reasons, your Windows XP Firewall is corrupt and you need to reinstall it again.
To quit the Firewall, perform the following steps:
1. Open Start menu and then go to Control Panel.
2. See Performance and Maintenance, select it and then select the Administrative Tools link.
3. See Services, double-click on the Services.
4. In the Services management console window, right-click on the Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service and then choose Properties.
5. See the window, select the Disabled option from the Startup type list and click on the Stop button.
6. Select Apply to confirm your changes and click OK to exit.
To remove all files and registry entries related to the Firewall on your computer, perform the following steps:
1. On Start > Run type cmd and press Enter to open the Command Prompt window.
2. In the Command Prompt window, run the following command and press Enter.
Running this command removes all files and a registry entry related to the firewall service from your computer, and enables you to completely remove firewall from your computer.
