You may wonder how to access the deletion of your IE Favorites folder.
You should always create a full backup of your registry before accessing any changes. This can help you to backup the old registry when you make any mistakes while you are tweaking the registry.
Please follow the steps to remove the IE Favorites folder.
1. Click Start and go to Run. Enter regedit to launch your Registry.
2. On the left side of the box that appear. You should find out HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER till you see Software folder.
3. Go the Software folder. Expand Software folder till you see Microsoft folder.
4. Go to the Microsoft folder and expand it till you see Internet Explorer.
5. Go to the Internet Explorer folder and expand it till you see Toolbar.
6. Find out LinksFolderName. If the value is there, go to step seven. If not so, you will have to create the value by following the steps below.
a. Right click on the right hand side of the box.
b. Select New and then go to String Value.
c. Rename the new String Value LinksFolderName.
7. Enter LinksFolderName. A box appears to let you modify.
8. Set the value data to be blank.
9. Open Internet Explorer folder and manually delete the Links folder from Favorites. Click OK. This can permanently remove the folders fro IE.
10. Exit the registry and restart your computer.
